“Small businesses help those in need and do so without rhetoric.” Video of the 6th workshop #divanoXmanagua.

“Small businesses help those in need and do so without rhetoric.”

So said, Renato Mattioni, director of the Chamber of Commerce Monza and Brianza, inspired by the work we are doing with the co-creation project for artisan solidarity #divanoXmanagua.

In our journey in understanding the work of an artisan; the training and the communication provided by the project #divanoXmanagua continues to create value at a multitude of different levels:

  • The economic value, thanks to the extraordinary quality of the sofa once sold all proceeds will go to help the School for Woodworkers in Managua through our partners of Terre des Hommes Italy;
  • The training value thanks to the active collaboration of students from the Upholstery Training Center, AFOL, Monza and Brianza;
  • The importance of on-line relationships, thanks to the participation of incredible people (all important for different reasons) who followed the project from its beginning in January, helped to convey the value of craftsmanship far beyond the borders of our territory.

We leave you to watch the video, listen to the speeches of Paolo Ferrara (Head of Communications and Fundraising, Terre des Hommes Italy), Angelo Longo (Director Training Area AFOL, MB), Stefano Maffei (Professor and researcher, PoliMi Industrial Design), Renato Mattioni (Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Monza and Brianza), Stefano Micelli (Economics Professor at the University of Venice and author of “Future Craftsman“), Alessia Mosca (Chamber of Deputies, XVII Legislature), Barbara Riva (General Manager AFOL, MB), Nicola Zago (Sharazad),Gianni Barzaghi (President Confartigianato MI-MB).

And of course, you’ll also see the exceptional workshop which was held on April 11th at the Fuori Salone in Milan … Ventura Lambrate view here, with Storify.

It was the day that teenage students worked together with university professors, Japanese visitors with entrepreneurs from the Brianza, all alongside the habitually silent Master Craftsmen.
We completed six workshops but the sensation from this video is just like the first. Electric!
Without rhetoric.
